Claire Laidler MChiro LRCC MMCA
Claire: “From being a teenager, I suffered from migraines, shoulder and neck pain. The pain was so debilitating and severe I was unable to go to work some days. When I moved to Harrogate, I was going through quite a stressful time and the migraines and pain had become unbearable. I looked through the Yellow Pages (this was before the internet) and chose a chiropractor close to where I lived. She happened to use the McTimoney technique. The results were remarkable. I was just blown away by how this gentle chiropractic could resolve such significant pain. I always remember a lady stopping me in the street after my second chiropractic appointment and said: “you make me want to walk up tall”.
Not only was my pain gone, but my body was just moving better. I was moving with confidence. My life was changed forever. I decided to give up a very good job and become a student again. My drive was I wanted to help people just as I had been. I now can’t imagine life without chiropractic. It is a significant part of my own personal approach to living an active and health-filled life. Chiropractic, lots of dog walking, good nutrition and function exercising enable me to live a very active and physical life.”
Claire studied a 5 year integrated Masters degree at McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordshire. Before qualifying as a chiropractor, Claire worked in performance sport and has over 10 years experience as a soft tissue therapist.
Claire believes research is integral to chiropractic and in November 2013 was invited to present her thesis ‘UK Chiropractors’ Attitude toward Research’ at the Chiropractic, Osteopathy and Physiotherapy 10th Annual Conference in Bournemouth. She now has aspirations to complete a Masters in Research as a stepping stone towards a PhD.
Claire is registered with the General Chiropractic Council. She holds a full membership with the McTimoney Chiropractic Associate and is also a Licentiate Member of The Royal College of Chiropractors.
